The menopause is a natural stage of life that marks the end of a person's menstrual cycle, typically occurring in their 40s or 50s. The menopause can cause various physical and emotional symptoms including hot flushes, night sweats, sleep problems, mood changes, weight gain, thinning hair and dry skin. These symptoms can range from mild to severe and can last for several years.

In the workplace, the menopause can have significant effects on employees. It can potentially impact productivity, job satisfaction, and overall wellbeing. Employees may experience difficulties concentrating, feelings of discomfort due to hot flushes, and fatigue from disrupted sleep. This can lead to poor mental health, including anxiety and depression.

Understanding the menopause and its potential impact on employees is crucial for creating an inclusive and supportive working environment. It allows for the implementation of supportive measures and adjustments in the workplace, helping those going through the menopause to feel comfortable and supported during this stage of their life. We offer three courses to support the menopause in the workplace:

  • Employee Menopause Training: This course provides an overview of the menopause, its symptoms, and how it can affect individuals at work. We also discuss ways to initiate conversations about the menopause and providing appropriate support.
  • Manager Menopause Training: Designed for line managers, this course provides the tools necessary to support teams effectively. In addition to covering the content from the awareness session, we delve into topics such as menopause employment law in the UK, reasonable adjustments, and creating a menopause-friendly workplace.
  • Menopause Café: An interactive session that provides information about the menopause and encourages open discussion around personal experiences. Led by an experienced trainer, this session aims to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with discussing the menopause in the workplace.
